Favorite Board Games For Two Players

We are currently facing a pandemic and it feels surreal! My son and I were just playing the Pandemic board game a few weeks ago and I can’t believe we are actually living through this. New York state being one of the states with most cases has forced many schools and institutions to close. I think it’s a great decision to help contain the spreading and try to keep everyone safe.

So, many of us have our kids home doing online schooling for these upcoming weeks. My son coincidently has spring break and will be home for the next two weeks. Evidently, we will have lots of time together. Luckly, we have a park close by where he can release some energy, but the truth is we will need to find stuff to keep us busy indoors.

This will be a good time to take out our board games that we haven’t played in a while.  It is a great time to bond, try to have some fun and forget some of the stuff happening around us. What are your favorite board games?

Scrabble, the classic crossword game, is fun and challenging.  It is so funny to see how we get stuck to create words. You can feel the excitement begin as soon as you rack up your letters, choose a great word, and hope to land on a triple-word score.  The original game is suggested for ages 8 and up but there is a Jr. version. Pandemic is a cooperative board game in which players work as a team to treat infections around the world while gathering resources for cures.  This is a great game to work as a team and come up with strategies that will make them win the game. It’s unbelievable how this game represents what leaders across the world are facing now.   Age 8+ Click Here to Purchase

Tickets To Ride

This one feels a little complex and overwhelming at first, but once you get through the rules, the fun is endless. It is a cross-country train adventure in which players collect and play matching train cards to claim railway routes connecting cities throughout North America.  The longer the routes, the more points you earn. It is recommended for Age 8+ but they do carry a version for smaller kids “First Journey”.

If you are looking for a game that is quick to set up, and is easy to play anywhere, then this is the game you need. Players carefully pull a wood block out of the tower and place it on top. It’s easy at first, but as more blocks get pulled, the tower starts to get unsteady. Players will be on the edge of their seats just trying to keep the tower from tumbling. Click Here to Purchase
